SILENT LETTERS (CUPBOARD, RASPBERRY)

In the top of the cupboard, Jane kept her raspberry jam. Black raspberry jam was one of the best things Susie had ever eaten in her entire life. Susie would emphasize the “in my entire life,” making Jane giggle, as Susie was only 10 at the time.

Susie felt a little spoiled, knowing that no matter when she opened the cupboard doors, the raspberry jam would await her. “Nectar of the gods!” she’d squeal dramatically. Jane would grin at her and shake her head, thankful for the rave reviews.
