ED PAST TENSE PRONUNCIATION: mashed, washed

This morning I peeled a dozen potatoes and washed them. After I boiled them, I mashed them and added butter and milk while they were still hot enough to melt the butter.

Esta manhã descasquei uma dúzia de batatas e lavei-as. Depois de fervê-las, amassei-as e adicionei manteiga e leite enquanto ainda estavam quentes o suficiente para derreter a manteiga.

When I washed them, I noticed that they looked a lot better and much more appetizing. After I mashed them, I took a small taste to be sure that they were just right.

I think it was super important to have washed them. They would’ve been so full of germs if I had mashed them as they were.
