CHALLENGING WORDS: chew, shoe

Melody had a new puppy and was concerned about the possibility of him trying to chew her shoe. She decided to be very careful to put it away to avoid its being chewed.

Melody tinha um novo filhotinho de cachorro e estava preocupada com a possibilidade de ele tentar mastigar o sapato dela. Ela decidiu ter muito cuidado ao guardá-lo para evitar que ele fosse mastigado.

The first day the puppy was in her home, Melody was distracted because she was playing with him. When she sat down to relax, she took off her shoe, and the pup began to chew on it.

No primeiro dia em que o filhotinho esteve em sua casa, Melody estava distraída porque ela estava brincando com ele. Quando ela se sentou para relaxar, ela tirou o sapato e o filhote começou a mastigá-lo.

Though at first glance Melody was angry about the shoe, she thought better of it and stopped herself. “Who is that bad little boy who is trying to chew on my shoe?” she said, putting the shoe aside and hugging the playful pup.

Embora à primeira vista Melody estivesse zangada por causa do sapato, ela pensou melhor e se conteve. “Quem é o garotinho mau que está tentando mastigar meu sapato?” ela disse, colocando o sapato de lado e abraçando o filhote brincalhão.
