PAST TENSE (ED) PRONUNCIATION (CHILLED, KILLED)
When Kelly returned from his appointment, he noticed that the air had gotten quite chilled during his absence. He looked for his small cat, wrapped him up in a blanket, and carried him into the house.
Quando Kelly voltou de sua consulta, ele percebeu que o ar tinha esfriado bastante durante sua ausência. Ele procurou seu gatinho, envolveu-o em um cobertor e carregou-o para dentro de casa.
He was concerned that it was so cold outside, it might’ve killed the cat. But he realized that it hadn’t gotten chilled to that degree yet.
Ele estava preocupado que estivesse tão frio lá fora, que pudesse ter matado o gato. Mas ele percebeu que ainda não tinha esfriado a esse ponto.
Looking back on the situation, he realized that though the cat was chilled to the bone, the cold hadn’t killed him. He promised himself he’d be more careful with him in the future.
Analisando a situação novamente, ele percebeu que embora o gato estivesse gelado até os ossos, o frio não o tinha matado. Ele prometeu a si mesmo que seria mais cuidadoso com ele no futuro.
